When you see something so spectacular and amazing, it is burnt in your memory. So you never forget it. It could possibly be the opposite, if you see something that is horrendously disgusting!

Memory Hole

Its origin comes from George Orwell's "1984", in which the memory hole was a small incinerator chute used for censoring, (through destroying), things Big Brother deemed necessary to censor.
