In the same vein as connipsis, whatheflipsis is a combination of the word ellipsis and the expression "What the flip?" that is represented by a series of three successive question marks "???". A whatheflipsis is typically used in internet forums, SMS messages, email, IRC, and various other forms of electronic communication. Whatheflipsis indicates extreme incredulity.
