Becky went from calm to sobbing to gleeful to pissed to dispondent all in one day. This frustrated and confused her parents, friends and Becky herself. They experienced moodswing whiplash.

reality whiplash

The experience of suddenly realizing that something is the opposite of what you thought it was.

"That's adorable!" I thought, watching a baby bear squeak with frustration as it tried to pull the bark off a stick. Then after a few minutes I realized the stick was a rabbit, and the squeaks were from it being eaten alive. The reality whiplash literally knocked the wind out of me.

bisexual whiplash

It's spring, the weather turns warn, and for the first time in many months all the cute people wandering around the street/mall/food court/city park/farmers market/etc. are wearing light clothing revealing faces, arms, legs, cleavage... The more of them distract you, the more often you turn to look, the more likely you are to get bisexual whiplash.

Straight people can get it too, of course, but being bi doubles your vulnerability.

The cute people are out today! I went to get some food and got bisexual whiplash just trying to cross the street.
