platos cave is a cave with sevoral people chained to chairs, these people have only ever seen shadows on a wall, so to them the shadows are reality, thae have never seen the real world, plato (the philosipher who came up with the idea) is trying to say the reality we experence is the only reality we have experenced so how do we know that there isant anything beyond our reality, we are like the prizoners chained to the chairs

Term used by Irish college/uni students. Like the Golden week (where one goes to every class in a week on time) except every night throughout the week one goes out on the piss, and making it into class the next morning.

droppin' plates

"Droppin' Plates" refers to records, when used by the recording industry. Droppin' a plate means either throwing a record down on a turntable or taunting with gold records. "Dub plates" are commonly used by DJ's as a one-off copy for their own use. Though mostly used in Reggae, Hip-Hop or Dance Hall music, they're used in virtually any genre.

In summary, it means throwing down records.
