olestra

The generic name for Olean, the fake fat that set off another 90's fad. It was used mainly in potato chips. It helps you lose weight because the fat is not absorbed into your body, but comes leaking out your ass, hence the warning on every bag: "May cause anal leakage"

I was a kid in the 90's, I remember the Olestra craze.
