Someone that is not current in social circumstances or attire. This person is in the middle between farm raised and white trash (WT). This person is friendly and would not try and hurt others, unlike WT.

a very long time ago, there was a man named HOOSA (who-za), he ran the docks on the Ohio River. He only liked to hire folks from indiana to work, because he thought that they worked hard. they became known as Hoosa's men, then just Hoosa(s), then Hoosiers, their are many definition's as i have read, but this seems to be the one that alot of the older people in indiana seem to know, other than that: GO HOOSIERS!!!!!!!! as far as what the canadians say that would be HOSER, HOSE-ER, not Hoosier
Basketball may have been born in Springfield, Mass. But, it moved to BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA to grow up

Mascot of the best college in the nation - Indiana University. Home of the greatest basketball program in history. Go HOOSIERS!
Also, a nickname for residents of Indiana. People who live in Indiana are called Hoosiers (notice they are not called Boilermakers - mascot of Indiana's rival, Purdue University, which is sucks at life & everything else.)

Hoosiers can often be found walking like they have corn cobs up their butt, or like they have been riding horses all day. They are from hillbilly areas like St. Charles, MO, and have a general lack of respect for social decencies: nose-picking, drunken car stealing, having excessively hairy chests, and gambling in public.
They are very picky eaters.
