Cogblocking

When technology, machinery, AI or an electronic device of any fashion gets in the way of you scoring or prevents you from advancing sexually or romantically with someone of interest.

Cogblocking essential holds the exact same meaning as cockblocking which normally defines a person who gets in the way or prevents someone from scoring with someone they are attracted to. Cogblocking works the exact same way with the only difference being defined by the fact that it is not a person getting in the way but instead forms of technology.

The word stems from the term Cockblocking and a Cog that would be present within a machine.

Nathan: *Doom scrolling mindlessly through Instagram Reels, suddenly gets a notification from his crush*

Nathan's Crush: "Hey~ Im home alone, my roommate is out for the night. Maybe we could meet up at the movies and finish the night at my place"

Nathan: *Gets Excited and Begins to Type* "Yeah totally (Winky Face), What theater do you wanna go to?"

Nathan clicks send and the message begins to process

After processing for 30 minutes the message fails to send due to connectivity issues

Nathan sends a similar text and is met with the same issue

2 hours after Nathan cant get ahold of his crush he gets a notification from Instagram of a post made by his crush with her and his friend Brandon at the movies together while sharing a bucket of popcorn and a drink with a heart shaped double straw.

Nathan's phone was Cogblocking him.
