A computer virus that sent an amazing amount of email, but failed to actually do anything. It also failed to destroy the internet, and cause the end of the world as many said it would.

Man, I spent $10000 on that bomb shelter and canned food, but nothing happened. Damn sobig!

A nasty little mass-mailing computer worm. Scans your computer for email addresses contained in html, txt, wab, and pab files (and others) and sends itself using SMTP to those addresses. Sends a special UDP packet to a remote server that may allow the worm to install additional worm-ish components or put a trojan on the infected machine.

Dumbass...you opened the sobig worm! scan your attachments you tool.
