The delay in time it may take a person to understand a pun which he or she has heard or read. May apply mostly to intentional puns conveyed during direct conversations, and may be strongly connected to somewhat far-fetched puns.

John: I'm attending the International Festival of Tango.
Roger: That sounds Cash.
John (10 seconds later): Ohhhh, as in the movie "Tango & Cash"...
Roger: C'mon John, that's a ten second pun lag!

Lag child
