attention deficit disorder

Acronym form: ADD.
A much-debated psychological disorder characterized by a constant need to switch activities and/or hyperactivity.

Contrary to popular belief, ADD is a real disorder, and there are people who actually benefit from ritalin. Unfortunately, a lot of normal people with short attention spans claim to have ADD in order to attract sympathy. A good way to differentiate someone with ADD: people with ADD can't sit still for long even when they're doing something they like, they constantly fidget with their hands (I mean CONSTANTLY), and they don't go around telling everyone they meet that they have ADD.

Person with short attention span: "Hey, show me some respect! I have ADD, you know!"

Person with ADD: "Sorry, I'm getting kind of bored already. I guess I just have a short attention span."

Something 1 out of maybe 100 people has, effectively causing them to be hugely obese. Most obese people who say they have one do not and are making excuses for themselves.

"Nobody will date me because I'm fat!!!", Jeanie wailed as she shoved yet another Ho-Ho in her mouth.

"Did you ever try a diet?",Paula asked.

"No, you don't understand. I have a glandular disorder, now pass the deep fried Twinkies!", Jeanie yelled.

Schizophrenia is a very severe psychiatric disorder.

Bipolar affective disorder

A serious mental illness marked by violent and wild oscillations between extreme euphoria or irritability (mania) and deep depression. Although it is technically classified as a mood disorder, it is one of the few psychiatric conditions in which psychosis occurs; it is usually associated with severe manic states but profound depression may also cause delusions and hallucinations to emerge. The psychotic features are usually mood-congruent, e.g., believing oneself to be Jesus Christ and Lucifer for mania and depression respectively. It's an illness of extreme opposites in mood, thinking and energy levels and a severe mental disorder that, at least in its classic form, goes infinitely beyond what mentally healthy people experience and most certainly not to be trivialised. It is also worth noting that the mood swings associated with this disease are sustained and typically last weeks or months, years in the most extreme cases. Ultra-ultra rapid cycling (extreme mood shifts in a day) is exceedingly rare.

Bipolar affective disorder is a severe mental illness that in its most acute form is potentially worse than schizophrenia.

Posttraumatic Dildo Disorder

A mental disorder characterized by a particularly dedicated avoidance of anything that could function as a dildo coupled with intrusive recollections of bad dildo experiences, sometimes to the point of becoming entirely celibate.

I knew that he was suffering somehow, much more than he let on, and so as I quickly grabbed the cucumber at the market, I saw him flinch and this led me to surmise that he was likely suffering with a bad case of Posttraumatic Dildo Disorder.
