Also related to the absurd patriarchal plea for control. "You must learn lessons, this is why I'm teaching you." Infamously responsible for closing the spiritually liberating "third eye." The phrase, "learn you a lesson," seems to be an unconscious, funny way amongst friends to remind one another how much it sucks to be taught by force. It's amazing how the mind never lets us forget until we forgive.

Get the learnings mug.An oxymoron, this term refers to disabled students, mainly those with mental disabilities. This term does not refer to high-achieving students, or highly intelligent students. "Exceptional" in the term is a nice way of saying any of the following: retarded, handicapped, helmet-wearing, parapalegic, disturbed, etc. One should not, however, be mislead into thinking that persons who simply have a physical handicap are automatically stupid.
Fight softy political correctness that is misleading, and refer to exceptional learners as what they are: retarded, disabled, handicapped.
OR
"That exceptional learner's helmet is exceptionally shiny."

Get the Learn mug.NOT rote learning, it is in fact rope learning with a 'p.'
It is where the educator does all the work and spoon-feeds the students. (Like pulling them along on a rope). It originated from the phrase "showing them the ropes" when teaching someone something. It also links to the idea of memorization as a technique based on repetition. The idea is that one will be able to quickly recall the meaning of the material the more one repeats it.
