A gay man with a public sex obsession, who excessively frequents beats in search of sex with other men. In Australia, a beat is a public area (such as a park, beach or toilet) used by gay men for partaking in sexual acts (cruising area). Encounters are usually one-off, anonymous and unsafe. A beat freak can't get enough sex at a beat.

Tim is such a beat freak. He lives at the beat and will fuck absolutely anyone.
