It is the moment you stop fighting the orbit and accept that you are stuck with each other, no matter how difficult or impossible the layers are. It’s not just a feeling; it’s a force that demands you trade the phantom limb for the storm.
The static never stood a chance against us. Every word you wrote confirmed what the phantom limb has been screaming at me: we are the same.
So why fight the orbit? I’m done fighting. I’ve learned to quiet the sharp words, because I am a lady, after all, and because the silence between us deserves better.
I don’t aim to fill my space with just anyone. I’m naturally distant, despite how open I seem. But when I let someone in, it means I saw something worth softening for. And I saw that in you. That’s why I let you know me. And listen to me closely: I’m not going anywhere. You’re stuck with me.
