Ironic Nostalgia; the creed that "everything old and belonging to an era is cool (besides anything too old, like classical music), but only when worn/eaten/done in an ironic fashion." Basically: ironic nostalgia.

Kurt practiced extreme hipsterism on Tuesday; pairing some ancient converse all-stars with an 80's watch, an obscure 60's band tee, and acid-washed jeans, he glared at all of us "preps" through tortoiseshell lenseless glasses.

those who dedicate their lives to emulate the image of an urban outfitters model. tends to work at a dead-end job, and spends disposable income supporting corporations that use child labor (nike), have republican agendas (urban outfitters), or on drugs/alcohol. has no interest in culture beyond "the underground". possesses the desire to improve society, yet makes no initiative to do so. prioritizes socialization over productivity and progression. easily identified by the "anti-war scarf".

hipster douche

a $200 tight jeans wearing, Vintage Nike dunks loving Dork, who only listens to Vice magazine approved "underground" bands that he's told to think is cool. A hipster douche can often times be found wearing his little sisters T-shirts and watching DVD's of The O.C, cause its "IRONIC" (Also known as an HD)

(GUY) - so what are you up to this weekend

(HD) - uuuggghhh, well i just picked up the season 3 box set of the O.C. , so I'll probably watch that with my girl, than check out the catpower show, theyre awesome!

(GUY) - Oh catpower?, what do they sound like

(HD) - don't know never heard them but they got a 7 out of 10 in VIce

Hipster

Xenophobic conformists of non-conformity. If you live in an apartment building with a few you can always guarantee they will be drinking and partying every Tuesday night. If you are not like them, they will not speak to you. At all. They are terrified of you. If you want to become friends with one, it must be based on mutual usery (Bring weed/beer.) If they know you smoke, they will be sure to knock on your door. Every. Fucking. Day. If you leave a note on their door, they will never get back to you, even if that note asks them to take over your lease. Often tend to never acknowledge your existence (This is especially true on the west coast.) Listens to horrible music. Will be utterly horrified to find out you don't smoke weed.

*Walks out the front door, runs into hipster*
Me: "Hey what's up?"
Hipster:"....."
Me:"...Fine, fuck you too."
