Religon

A destrucive idealogy when interpereted literally. The majority of religon was created in a time when We did not have realistic answers to the bigger questions in life- so we made them up in order to solve unrest. this lead to enlightening periods of time sutch as the dark ages, the spanish inquisition and the holochaust. Islam is the only religon left with a world threatening grip on it's people, whilst the other groups have lost considerable amounts of followers to Science, laziness or logic.

Religon is a matter of Faith and faith is to forfeit logic for lack of ambition to discover the truth... witch hurts.

Religious ignorance

Someone who only has knowledge of their own religion (usually a form of Christianity) rather than the major ones: Islam, Jewism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Buddhism. Also: someone who has their eyes blinded to truth by religious ignorance (ie: dinosaurs could not have existed - they are not in the Bible)

Religious ignorance usually is concentrated in churches - how ironic.

religion

At its core, religion is adherence to a code of beliefs. Often bashed by evangelical atheists who don't understand that their belief in no god is itself a religion.

Also note that general religion or faith is not the same thing as organized religion. Organized religion is, theologically, man's interpretation of what God wants. For example, Christianity is a belief in God and Jesus (see the Bible for more specifics), and the organized religion of Catholocism (later, the Protestant faiths) was created to 'bring God to the people.'

Most faiths say basically the same thing (that there was one loving God, a flood, some prophets and some other stuff) but a lot of organized religions have been twisted into an excuse for people to kill each other (if theres one thing humans love more than killing each other, its doing it for a greater cause).

Everyone is a member of some religion, even if it's the religion of no religion. Now Deal With It kthx.

Religious Right

A bunch of extreme right-wing headcases who think that God talks to them (signs of schizophrenia?) and want to return our society to the Middle Ages. Noted mainly for racism, misogyny, and a complete lack of independent thought.

n. One with an irrational fear or hatred of a person or person with religious convictions. Sometimes practiced by people who think they know everything. Not to be confused with an atheist that does not believe in a religion but respects others' beliefs a religiophobe actively attacks anyone that displays religious faith.

We fear what we do not agree with or understand.
Society says it's wrong to be a homophobe but it's okay to be a religiophobe.

Leftists seem to hate every form of bigotry with the exception of attacks on those with a religious background; they are real religiophobes.

The Religous Right support the invasion of Iraq, and are opposed to funding being diverted from defence to education, welfare and healthcare - whatever happened to "love thy neighbour" religious right
