However, when called upon it they rationalize how they obtained the information. Usually used by an educated individual who thinks they can pull it off.

means the same thing as gettin head, gettin dome, etc. Sometimes gettin head is called gettin brains, and this led to "gettin knowledge" because brains=knowledge.
