mall goth

An individual calling themself "goth"/"gothic" that ,in actuality, is not involved in the subculture.
They listen to overhyped nu-metal/emo bands that they like for the simple fact that they believe it will make them 'cool',or more 'gothic'.
Usually between the ages of 12-17, they have a very blatant fashion sense; commonly wearing baggy, black pants with chains draped from them, spiked wristbands/collars, beanies, and especially Slipknot, HIM, or Korn tees.
Their chief source of fashion is Hot Topic (owned by Abercrombie & Fitch)
Some will don a depressed visage, never smile or speak, and others will don a moody, angry tone.
None of these 'goths' are generally 'gothic' at all. None of these people understand the origins, roots, or influences of the subculture, nor would they likely to be interested in any of its true aspects.

"You're indefinitely not involved in the gothic subculture; you would appear to be a mall goth."
"My friend only listens to HIM and Slipknot, and pretends to be depressed all the time; he's a mall goth."

mallcore

1.Mallcore is a term of derision that refers to nu-metal, since it is so closely associated with the Hot Topic stores at the malls of America. Such music, while having certain metallic tendencies, is simplistic, predictable, and, for the most part, uncreative. Thus, it cannot be considered true metal, however, these watered-down mainstream bands do lead some fans in the right direction towards true metal bands such as Slayer, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, Deicide, Iron Maiden, among countless others.
2. This term can sometimes be abused by certain metalheads. Some people will say a band has gone "mallcore" any time it releases a sub par album, even if the band has no hint of mallcore influences, still plays solos, and is much too heavy to have any mainstream acceptance.

1. I used to listen to mallcore until I discovered Slayer.
2. According to Special K, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Opeth, Children of Bodom, and Cradle of Filth classify as "mallcore" since I have seen shirts sold at Hot Topic for all those bands.

Mall rape

when mall vendors try to sell you their product and stop at nothing. This includes grabbing you, verbally harassing you, and blocking your way from leaving until you buy it.

Vendor: hey you! you look like you're in need of a hair straightener!
Woman: no thanks, i really can't stay...
*Vendor grabs woman's arm*
Woman: what are you doing?
Vendor: please, let me show you!
Woman: no! get off!
*vendor releases her arm and grabs her hand leading her over to his booth*
Vendor: your hair will be silky smooth..
*straightens her hair*
Vendor: how many will you buy?
Woman: ..ugh... if you let me leave i'll buy one..
Vendor: SOLD!
Woman: that was such a mall rape.

mall rat

10-12 year old girls who smoke cigarettes and usually have clothing that is thought to be appropriate for dirty run down strip joints. It is not unusual to see a pack of three to four scurrying around the mall at unusual hours, although seeing them with their obnoxiously older boyfriends is not a rare sighting either. Their boyfriends usually range in age from 18 to 22. it is also not unusual for a pack to come up to a group of upstanding citizens asking for a dollar when all they want to do is get something to eat and get the fuck out.

Dave: yo John, the girl just came up to me and wanted me to give her 75 cents. I think she's pretty cute.

John: Ew dude thats gross, shes 12 years old. Just another mall rat.

Dave: my bad John, I'm just really stoned

John: It's ok man, we've all had our moments.

mallcore

The emo or goth children who are afraid of what people will say about them, so, they run aroung whining "don't lable me!!" Those children also buy all their clothing from Hot Topic and Zumies.

I wish the mallcores would stop whining saying, "don't label me!" It is easier to just say "I don't care". But they are afraid of what people will say of them.
