silent date

When two people go out and agree not to say a word to each other and as few words to other people as possible especially when your date is in ear shot. The goal is to communicate non verbally with lots of eye contact, body language, and physical contact. Also no phones allowed.

We went on a silent date and I've never felt so close and in-tune with someone like that before.

a "SILENT FLAMER" is a "person" who tends to just give up and starts sighing. Instead of the normal flaming methods expressing his malcontent the "silent flamer" tends to just shut up and type "ff 15".

roll-sidle

When a big-time consultant physically rolls his office chair into your cube (or office) to annoy you with something pointless. The result is usually a feeling of anger and physical harm is entirely possible. This is different from a regular "sidle" which does not include a chair, but rather where the BTC (big time consultant) lingers annoyingly for no reason. Think of Lumbergh in "Office Space" rolling up "Peter... what's happening!"

"That fucking douchebag consultant keeps roll-sidling me all fucking day.... can't someone give that guy something to do! How many times is he gonna come over and tell me the stories about his old job?"

Schroedingers silence

"Schroedingers silence" is a situation where on an online chat, the chat partner suddenly becomes silent, as if ignoring. But in fact, it is quite impossible to know if the partner is the latter, or simply away from the keyboard.
These situations can only be one or the other, as soon as the Schroedingers silence is opened, E.G. having a second partner check if he will get an answer when chatting with the first partner: If no answer is given back, the Schroedingers silence has been open, and one can conclude that the partner is indeed AFK. However if the partner do answer, the Schroedingers silence has been opened aswell, and one can now conclude that the partner is ignoring.

Partner 1: Yeah, its going good
Self: Got any new games lately
*Partner 1 does not answer for a period of time*
Self: Hey, did you get any or what?
*Still no answer*

Self: Hey i think Partner 1 is in a Schroedingers silence

Self: Thanks
