jugs for drugs

When a woman shows her tits in exchange for drugs.
She was so hard up that she offered to pull her shirt up and let people take pictures if someone would give her pills or a joint or a rock - it was a classic example of jugs for drugs.

drum and bass

Not mindless noise at all, as Burkey tries to claim. The basic premise is pattern based loops put over drum loops, but instead of your regular 4/4 um-tiss-um-tiss drums, it's set over the more flowing breakbeat format. The term drum and bass defines the predominent sounds you get: drums and bass are the sounds that are more predominent. It sticks wit a simple-but-effective motive towards melodies (or basslines is the case of dnb) but the complexity comes in the production of these sounds. The general rule for the sounds are bigger and badder is better, but depending on the style (there are also liquid and more ambient styles) this is also not the case. For those chart-dwellers who aren't quite sure of what this music is like, if you can refer back a few years when a few artists broke through (shy fx & t power, roni size, goldie and pendulum more recently) thats the kind of premise it follows, but that's only the surface of what is such a varied genre of music.to understand this music and to listen to the best, look for the artists in my examples.
Andy C, DJ Hype, Mampi Swift, DJ Hazard, Friction, Drumsound and Bassline Smith, DJ Fresh, Roni Size, Goldie, DJ Marky, Zinc, Chase and Status, LTJ Bukem, Brockie, Ed Rush & Optical, Sub Focus, Loxy, Ink, Noisia to name but a few Drum and Bass djs/producers

drumline

The section of the band that consists of a Batterie(no, that is not misspelled), or the field percussion, and a front ensemble, or pit, consisting of mallet and auxiliary percussion and often a bass guitar. The field percussion often consists of 3-4 snares in smaller bands and 7-10 in bigger bands, 4-5 bass drums, 2-3 multi-tenors (quads, quints, or sixpacks), and 2-3 marching cymbals. They are the hardest working, most featured section of the marching band and are often the flashiest as well. When the band enters the stadium, they often march at the back or in the middle, and play a 30 second-1 minute piece of music featuring the drumline, often called a "cadence" or "street beat". The best snare, also called "drum captain" or "center snare", starts the cadence with a signal yell or phrase and keeps the beat for the drumline during the show by yelling "daht" to the beat of the drum major during rests. Sometimes, they will challenge other drumlines to a "drum battle", which consists of playing prepared cadences until one line runs out of ideas and are declared the loser.
1. Our drumline kicked ass! I really liked their cadence, too.

drummers

The ONLY way any band or singer could ever suceed.
We hold toghether all music and are the greatest ever
We are constantly unappreciated among other musicians because our instruments look simple but take super human skill to play to a good standard.
We are never allowed to play at a band practice when other musicians are tuning/figuring out guitar/bass/synth because drums posses little ability to turn down volume but pads arn't fun and playing quietly isn't half as fun
We possibly are insane but this only aids the love we recieve from Women(apparently never happens to me) and because we play and instrument that requires hard physical work!
The hard physical work leads to mass sweating which in turn leads to mass taken off of clothes. This is part of the insaneness
There are some disadvantages
Lots of kit must be lugged everywhere
Setting up takes a while
Drums are expensive(but cool)
No appreciation from band
always at the back or back corners of the stage
Can't get up and run around
always need sticks which frequently brake

However despite this we are the greatest ever musicians and own all others because they need us! We are god like in our musicness
Guitarist"Everyone sees me at the front of the stage and notices my music and what im doing"
Drummer"No-one sees me at the back and althought my music is noticed it is behind all the other music that is going on"

However the guitarist can be replaced and although people notice the band sound the same
Replace the drummers its basically a different band because no drummer sounds the same

drugstar

Adj: One who performs, in the conventionaly academic and social senses, while under the consistent influences of narcotics. We should like to note that cocaine users are not considered true drugstars given cocaine's tendency to foster a "peppy" outlook. Although, anyone who does loads o'drugs and isn't a total "garbo lobster" is generally considered a DRUGSTAR.
John Liu is such a drugstar, he candy flipped before he aced the chem final.

Drugstars are rare, rare birds.

Drugstar is a fun word to know and say

Drummer

a person who plays the drums usu. a drum kit. It is a common misconception that drummers are unintelligent and have no musical ability whatsoever. They get alot of flak from guitarists about not having tuned instruments. this is because drums are a percussive intrument rather than a melodic instument. but they can be tuned, personally i have my toms tuned to a perfect fourth in acending order starting from the floor tom.

The problem with saying that drummers have no musical ability is that though we have no moving melodic structure we do have "notes". these notes can and usually are written on a staff with the lowest line or E (treble clef) representing the bass drum and the middle line or B (treble clef) representing the snare the remaining lines and spaces are normally reserved for toms while the Ledger lines and spaces above F are used in conjunction with Xs and stars for cymbals.

drummers do indeed drive the band as the heart beat and "time machine" of the band. though often disrespected and unappreciated the drummer sits in the back with a smile on his face knowing that without him the band would be screwed.

P.s i also play guitar, piano, bass, and im a vocalist, so suck on that people who say we arent musicians
guitarist: lol ur such a noob for playing drums ur not a musician at all

drummer:Ok do you realize that you were playing an ascending Phrygian mode during your solo while it would have made more melodic sense to play a descending Mixolidian

Guitarist: what the hell is a Ascending Phrygian mode

Drummer: exactly........im going to go hang with the bassist and talk about music theory while practicing rudiments

Guitarist: what are rudiments

Drummer: lol fag............
