A skallagrigg is a derogatory term used to describe someone with ginger hair, usually insinuating that they are disabled or retarded in some way.

The name Skallagrigg itself is from a 1987 novel by William Horwood of the same name, which was turned into a BBC series in the early 1990’s in which a red headed child with cerebral palsy is depicted.
