now: a growing middle/high school clique that has taken in many loner teens. they usually listen to bad music, but most are pretty cool people. they dont really do anything bad now, they just are being themselves. they seem alright to me, except for the scary ones.

Get the gothmug. ok, after reading your definitions, im amazed people actualy post here. alot of people have it right, but noone is rong.
musicaly, goth is nolonger aroung,
spiritualy, goth is dying
fashion wise, goth is being replaced,
for the people who label themselves goth, get a grip,
for the people who are labled goth, be proud people see you as yourself.
after reading them all, all ive found, is that stereotypes of goth are wrong, and so are most of the defenitions. goth is a culture, a way of life, and a way through for some of us.
i am 13, and ive been labled for over 4 years, i couldnt care, if they want to call me goth, let them, all i know is that if they label you, they are making thwemselces no better than that which they are mocking.

"Them" being both Trendies and Townies. they dress the way they do as a statement to the general public so they will not mistake their inclinations.

Ancient 3rd and 4th Century Germanic people that invaded the Roman Empire; aiding in its fall, a style of architecture, music, art, fashion, and literature that has been degraded to (mostly, not all) selfless, ignorant teenagers that can't cope with life, and find that dressing in black, wearing black make-up, listening to heavy metal, and cutting themselves is the answer to their 'horrible life.'
For some of them, they're just pessimistic.. but atleast some of they actually have a sense of grammar, and.. some sorts of intelligence.

Stereotype goths, such as the people whom work at and/or shop at Hot Topic, are the standard of what one what think as a goth. Your stereotypical goth usually consists of....
-Listening to Heavy Metal
-Wears a LOT of chains/spikes
-Dresses in all black
-Hate anything colorful
-Write (not very good) poetry
-Idolizes "Jack" from The Nightmare Before Christmas
-Do numerous drugs
Not all goths are like this, but many goths hate to socialize outside of their sub-society. Not all goths are miserable. But those whom do may not know why.And some goths only use their label as an excuse to use the Goth fashion.
In all, there are just as many good things about goths as there are bad things.

You stand around in a circle with everyone who is playing. Anyone can then make the call of "Goth" on anyone else. For example person 1 can point at person 5 and call "Goth" The "Goth" then has to run for his/her dear life while everyone else then has to chase after the "Goth" whilst shouting "Goth Goth Goth.. etc" abusing them untill deemed they have been thoroughly beaten. After this has happened. The group, regroups and takes a breather waits for previously chosen goth to stop crying and then game resumes.
Goth is not allowed to be called on the same person twice in a row but is allowed to be called on them again after 1 other person has been the goth
Fair play is deemed important to this game, otherwise you could lose friends
Play with real goths for added thrills and excitement
