My grandpa told me that a long time ago when a man bought his own freedom he would show off his freedom and his new found "wealth" by showing how many gold teeth he could buy Later on it became a status symbol of gambling men , bootleggers, musicians or for that matter any black person that didnt work for white people anymore

All this changed in the late 70s and early 80s when it became connected to drug dealers, robbers, ang gangsters

in the 90s to the present it is now worn as fashion and many people dont know its true history so they make fun of it, ususaully by white people which is funny because they were originally a middle finger to slave masters

crunk teeth

Fake teeth that you can temporarily put in your mouth. They are usually gold in color but can vary. Their main purpose is to make you look good when you are partying.

Most recently made famous by Leroy Wells during his audition on American Idol.

I put in my crunk teeth to look good for the ladies.
