When you knock a glass of who knows what
on the floor as I commonly do because I am clumsy as fuck, or when you "accidently" knock over, turn over, or dump out an object on the floor, usually liquids and occasionally solids, rarely gases.

Oh fuck, my clumsy drunk ass knocked over that glass of red wine onto our brand new $75,000 carpet.

To spill is to unintentionally crash down on a skateboard, it’s even worse if someone sees. Common causes of spills are: pebbles, checking your phone, cracks in the road... etc

Random guy: I saw you spill on the road, you alright?
Me: yeah I’m an embarrassment to myself.
