scarecasting

Similar to weather forecasting, but either a news source (company or individual) twists the forecast of a severe storm into a worst case scenario. This usually occurs well before a storm forecast has been solidly determined.

Person 1: The weather forecast on the news is saying Hurricane Irma is the next Harvey, and it's going to hit Charleston, SC.

Person 2: Irma is still a week away from landfall. It sounds like they're scarecasting. Don't believe everything you hear.

Scaring sarcasm
1:describes hurtful or offensive sarcasm
2:mocking someone's sarcasm

Conversation---------1 and 2 represents two different people
1 "you did a great job"
2 "your scarcasam really hurts"

scarcasm

A comment that has hidden sarcasm, but sounds positive. Often used by someone losing but makes a comment that may on appearance appear that opposite is happening. For example a player might say "this team is truly awesome," or "great battle"... even though this players team is being pummeled and is behind 46 to zero. Basically hiding the scars of defeat.

Bob exclaimed "victory, victory, victory" even though his team lost 25-0... now thats some great scarcasm

When someone uses sarcasm in a way where it scars the user, hence the term scarcasm. See sarcasm and scarcastic.

Scarcasm, n. clever but very unkind comments that leave a scar on the recipient. A stronger form of sarcasm that is directed towards someone who is especially sensitive and is permanently "scarred" by the cutting remark.
Also Scarcastic, adj.

"Why isn't your sister coming to the house warming party?" " "Oh, she has been having a hard time dealing with her boss' scarcasm - the other day he made an especially cruel comment about the size of her nose and now she's even more self conscience in new social situations.That guy is such an ass."

feeling of fear of something terribles is about to occur.
fear or anxiety brought on by real events.

alley's was having a funfull time while she was driving but for jojo the ride was very scaretastic.
