A roo, shortened for kangaroo. Mostly used by Australians, or people who live in Australia.

Example 1:

American: I love kangaroos!

Australian: Yeah, they're pretty cool. They live in my backyard!

American: Seriously?

Australian: Sometimes I feed the roos meat, mate.

Example 2:
Australian: So I was driving the other day and I accidentally hit a roo.

American: A what?
Australian: A kangaroo you fool!
