This rare word comes from the Greek “khárisma,” which means “freely bestowed favor” or “gift of grace” and is derived from the Greek “cháris” which means “kindness, grace.” This Greek terminology for “gift” became Sanskrit, which means “miracle” as miracle means a gift comes from the God. A Charis is one of the Charites (Greek:) or “graces” in Greek Mythology, goddesses of charm, beauty, nature, human creativity, and fertility.

Karissa
