(A portmanteau of the words Egon and phonics) An autistic form of technobabble and sesquipedalian loquaciousness (using long words). Derived from Dr. Egon Spengler (a character in the Ghostbusters franchise); a genius who lacks social intelligence.

Example, from the Extreme Ghostbusters episode "Moby Ghost":

EGON: I've ascertained a definite pattern of movement for the ectoplasmic manifestation. Its attacks are neither random nor geographically based, but rather based upon escalating intensity and degree of destruction.

Engineering practices that never include reevaluation due to potential damage to the original authors ego, except when that reevaluation is presented by the original author.

1. Contributions to Rick's code must follow his strict egoneering practices, which means no one touches the code but Rick.

2. Rick's egoneering included a whoami check in his bash script to only allow his user to run it.
