agnostic

Someone who does not think there is enough evidence to prove or disprove God's existence. It's a valid viewpoint.

Some people say agnostics can't make up their mind or do their research on what to believe. I did my research on different religions and philosphical beliefs, and I made up my mind. And now I'm an agnostic. Deal with it.

Oh, and agnosticism isn't weak atheism. Atheism is believing that there is no God. You can be an agnostic athiest - one who doesn't believe in God. You can an agnostic deist - one who believes in a higher power. What you believe is different from what you know.

agnostic atheist

A person who holds the view that the existence of a deity cannot be proven nor disproven, but personally leans towards the idea of there not being one. In this case, agnostic is an adjective. "Atheist" has to do with belief, and "agnostic" has to do with knowledge. Two completely different animals, but can be applied to each other. Basically, a person who doesn't know and doesn't believe.
Guy: So what are your religious views?
Agnostic atheist: I'm an agnostic.
Guy: So you're just a pussy atheist?
Agnostic atheist: No, you idiot. I'm an atheist, too. I'm an atheistic agnostic, or an agnostic atheist.
Guy: Huh??

Is the opposite of gnostic- meaning a claim to knowlege.
Agnostic person: "I don't think its possible to tell if there is or isn't a god but I respect your beliefs as long as your not murdering or raping people as part of them."

Other agnostic person: "We will find out the truth on this issue when we are dead and I would not care to die sooner just to find the answer."

Agnostic Avowal

"We cannot know with certainty if God or Christ exist. They could. Then again there could be a giant reptilian bird in charge of everything. Can we be certain there isn't? No, so it's pointless to talk about."

Agnosticism

The only true sign of intelligence you will encounter from another human being.

A theist, or believer in God, will tell you that he ABSOLUTELY exists. An atheist (non-believer) will say he ABSOLUTELY doesn't.

Well, the last time I checked, it's been like 2000 years since God was reported to have talked to anybody, making it pretty difficult to prove. Besides which, all religion is predicated on faith (See also: Not supposed to be proven).

Prove he doesn't exist? Possibly the only thing harder to do. Besides the enormity of the task, there's the fact that anyone who ever took a logic class knows and that is that you can't prove a negative. You can only prove (sometimes) that something hasn't happened YET. It may still the next time.

So... you have a theist, an atheist and an agnostic... None of them really knows the truth about the nature of existence.

But only the agnostic is smart enough to admit it.
Agnosticism says: I don't know if there's a God or not... and neither do you.

Sleep tight.
