Twitterbater

A person who has a Twitter account they regularly update and that no one beyond themselves reads. Aware of the lack of traffic, they keep at it, seemingly Twittering only for their own self-gratification or to make themselves feel more important/special.

Guy #1 -- "Hey, guys! You should check out my Twitter page, it's crazy cool!" *walks off*

Guy #2 -- "Think that guy knows no one cares?"

Guy #3 -- "Yeah, definite Twitterbater."

A twit (i.e. twitter user) who tweets inappropriate sexual innuendo @minors. Also known as a #twitterphile or #twitterjohn.

Two reasonable people, out to lunch:
Person A -- Did you see that #twittersex Alan was creeping on that 14-year old?
Person B -- Yeah, he's such a #twitterast

Twitterature

Noun- A written work (or body of works) of a particularly humorous, clever, and/or poignant nature, and artfully stated in 140 characters or less

Since he fancied his latest Tweet a work of fine Twitterature, he also posted his cleverly stated musings on the topic of pajama pants as a status update on all of his social networking profiles.

It could be argued that Jack Handey was one of the original, great authors of modern Twitterature despite producing the majority of his work before the digital age and the advent of social media such as Twitter and Facebook.

Twitterbation (noun) An act of social masturbation in which one retweets trivial @replies directed toward one's self that offer no apparent benefit to one's social status.
