An American made car that, while definitely not a muscle car, can be categorized as a nice sports car at the proper trim level. This car usually can not beat a stock V8 Camaro or Firebird in its stock form, but with the use of modifications, can become faster. While most people fight over whether the Camaro/Trans Am or Mustang is better, it is always better to have either of them than a piece of crap rice rocket.
Even though my stock Z28 can beat your Mustang GT in the 1/4 mile by about a second, be proud that you dont have that piece of crap Civic with that ghey body kit.

The famous pony car, made by the Ford Motor Company, is the longest production pony car to date. It is well known for it's performance to dollar value and has the largest aftermarket support than any other car (yes even more then your LT1 or your civic). This car is a legend in the car industry; So well yes it was the first muscle car to come with a 4 cylinder... it didn't get discontinued either. Also another interesting point, the most widely known engine on the planet is actually the mustangs infamous 302/5L motor, so many people who know nothing about cars will approach a mustang owner and ask them if it has 5.0L in it, when in fact it hasn't been in a mustang since 1995. Just to let you know (with the exception of the 2000 cobra R and GT500) the 1996-2004 mustang GT uses a 4.6L SOHC modular motor (modular is not a pushrod motor), and the 1996-2004 cobra uses a 4.6L DOHC modular motor; The 2005-2010 uses a 4.6L SOHC 3v modular motor and now, as alot of people have heard, the 2011 GT is equiped with the 5.0L DOHC, one of the most best motors in production currently. So please, don't walk up to any mustang owner and ask if it has a 5.0L or 302 in it. It makes you look like you know shit and the models produced that DO have them, have badges on the fenders usually. The best models produced to date:

The most bad ass vehicle ever engineered. This car has an incredibly large aftermarket and a huge following. Mustangs can usually be found in your own town burning rice rockets and camaros.
Isn't it interesting that Ford still makes the Mustang and GM quit making F-bodies in 2002!? Oh and Mustangs came out earlier too!!

Love it or hate it, a car that will make people envy you or want to fuck you. The only sports car left standing after Camaro and Firebird bit the dust. A reason to have an inflated ego and think your one B.A.M.F! Can also make you look 10x sexier/hotter than before.

Mustang: ONE OF THEE GREATEST muscle cars produced throughout history (regardless of what ppl think of the camaro... If its so great and such a competitor why did GM quit producing it?) Ford never quit making the mustang even when sales were at all time lows they continued to sell... Ive also read on here about people ripping on the V6 mustang calling it a ricer... alright I will agree the V6 isnt much.... But I didnt see anything about the V8 stangs or the H.O. 302s(for the ppl that think they're something but dont understand this those are the fast ones...)line that small block up with a good 4 speed and you got a rocket.. should run upper 140s lower 150s(mph)top end stock..(I own a 91 mustang LX with the V8 5.0 302 H.O. so im goin off info that I kno is fact..)if you dont believe me check out a mustang website and learn something. O yea and if you have to ask what H.O. means you wouldnt understand... ;)
any car can be modified to run like a motherfucker alright? so lets compare when they're (((!!!!STOCK!!!!))) cuz its just fuckin dumb to compare a 500 hp camaro vs a 300 hp mustang vice versa right?

While a lot can be said against it, I'll take a Mustang over a Camaro any day. Mostly because a lot more can be said against the Camaro.
