Liberal

Liberal pretty much means democrat, or "left-wing" . Opposite of Republicans.
Anna: "Dad, what does liberal mean?"

Dad: "It means you do not agree with things that Republicans, AKA, the smart people, say.

Anna: " So, they don't agree with us?"

Dad: "Yep, that's right!"

Liberal

Technically, Liberalism is at the center of the political spectrum. In UK politics, this position is championed by the Liberal Democrat Party. However, in the US, 'Liberal' is often used to describe members of the Democratic Party, despite the Democratic Party occupying the socialist area of the spectrum, much like the Labour Party.
UK:
Jack: Which party do you support?
John: Lib Dem.
Jack: So you're a Liberal?
John: Yep.

US:
Jack: Which party do you support?
John: Democrat.
Jack: So you're a Liberal?
John: No, I'm a socialist.

5 The VILE person shall be no more called LIBERAL, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

6 For the VILE person will speak VILLANY, and his heart will work INIQUITY, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

7 The instruments also of the churl are EVIL: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

8 But the LIBERAL deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
Rev. John Stott (in Basic Christianity) has said: “The great tragedy in the church today is that evangelicals are Biblical but not contemporary, while liberals are contemporary but NOT Biblical. We need faithfulness to the ancient word and sensitivity to the modern world.”

I think it’s important for Christians to use aspects of contemporary culture if they are serious about beginning a dialogue with NON-Christians/Liberals.
