flambohip

An indie youth subculture whose followers combine obscure taste in music, films, and books with fashion-savvy and often flamboyant style in clothing (see glam). Flambohips are also part of the minuscule percentage of hipsters who eventually get over themselves and learn to be friendly.

Guy 1: What do you think of this hot pink Cat Power shirt?
Guy 2: Dude, that's so flambohip!

Flambohip: Hey, great jacket! Is that Urban Outfitters?
Hipster: Shut up.

As you are stalking your faux friend's new photo album on Facebook, paying close attention, you realize that two pictures in a row look peculiarly similar. So you press the left arrow to look at the first picture again. And then you press the right arrow to look at the second picture again. And then you continue to press left and right again and again so that it looks like your friend is moving. Flipping popcorn in his mouth. Crushing that beer can. Kicking rocks. Alas! Facebook Flipbook.

Dude. Did you catch that Facebook Flipbook of Nick? I kept pressing left and right, and it looked like his pants were disappearing and then reappearing.

flamboyant

1. Adjective:
Mostly means over the top, loud, colourful.

Can be applied to objects or people.

Often associated with gay men, but does not MEAN "gay" as some previous additions seem to imply.

1. The float at the carnival was very flamboyant.

2. Geoff is being very flamboyant tonight.
