v. To attempt to insult (or flame) the wrong person, i.e. someone who turns out to have way more control of a situation than it would seem from the outside.
If a mobster found him or herself at a party and proceeded to insult another one of the partygoers, only to find out later that the other partygoer turned out to be the new D.A. with a mad-on for mobsters, this would be considered a flam.

“Flam” - short for “flammable” is used to label an item, person, or situation that has a strong potential to become “fire” (Something that is really good, amazing, crazy in a good way). As in not *yet* fire, but likely to be fire.
“That new candy trader job of yours sounds so flam.”
“What do you think of my homemade pants?” “Pretty flam, fam.”
“I’m really excited about this date tonight. Dude seems hella flam.”

Short for flamboyant. Origianted in times of angst from political correctness, it is used to differentiate which homosexuals are actually gaywads. You know, the fairy kind. One can also be a flam without actually partaking in any homsexual activities, but most experts agree that any flam would readily engage in said queer actions.
1)noun: Check out that flam heading into the Gap, he has a tattoo right over his asscrack. Yuck.
2)adj: You know why that guy has so many chick friends, because he's flamish. They dig the flamish ones because they're great shoppers.
