To stamp out unwanted thoughts of gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia, they go hyper masculine, only to discover thirty or forty years later that they're really women deep inside themselves.

When my parents told me I couldn't be a girl because I had a penis, not wanting to get beaten, I played along as best I could and refusing to Jennerize myself, I would only do the man thing enough to get by.
