A celebration of a predominately African-American sport in the United States, NBA All-Star Weekend contains many activities that African-Americans enjoy. What makes the term "Woodstock" most appropriate (and ironic) is that the entertainment during NBA All-Star Weekend is the exact opposite of the 60's celebration of the same name. It is not outside, there is no rain, mud, dirty people, and camping; all things that African-American's tend to shy away from. Hence, never having a Woodstock that caters to the tastes of the African-American culture, NBA All-Star Weekend was dubbed "Black Woodstock".
