Merrick is a short little goblin who thinks he is the shit but is not the shit, he thinks he is good at everything but in reality he is a lower than average bench rider, he is also very ugly and fat. He is very un atheletic and runs like a penguin. If this troll ever gets a girlfriend by some miracle he blows the chance or scares her away. If you know a Merrick stop being friends with him because he acts like he can just be a dick to everyone and loose you as a friend thinking he has a million other friends but in reality he doesn't. Also he is a dick that's somewhat funny but is VERY ANNOYING constantly texting you every second. He dresses like he does not see the outfit before he chooses or he does not have any other clothes

However, scholars extrapolate that people is a stand-in for the word 'men.' Therein the phrase is really means that an occasion is made more entertaining by the increased number of men in attendance. Clearly, the speaker of such a phrase is excited by the additional men who are around or near him.
