To bail on a plan. Usually with a pitiful excuse. If the person does this often enough, they become the queen of flaps.

Jed - "Sorry, I know I said I'd come but I have a cold."

Sam - "You're flapping then?"

Jed - "No I just dont feel well.

Sam - "Dont flap man! It will be more boring."

Amanda - "This is the 5th time you've done this now Jed. You're becoming the queen of flaps."

Flappies

Flappies is what a young bat does prior to being able to fly. It hangs on to something stationary like a tree branch with its feet, while flapping its wings vigorously, mimicking flight, in order to exercise and strengthen the muscles that will soon be required when it starts to fly. Older adult bats in captivity past the age of flight also engage in this activity.

A baby bat practices flappies every day until it is ready to fly.
