Hollywood Trend

A publicity stunt that a majority of celebrities suddenly start doing to keep their name in the papers/tabloids.

Examples include: Drug abuse, losing an unhealthy amount of weight, dating people much older/younger then themselves, having babies, and divorcing.

With young actresses, the latest hollywood trends are having babies with a-lister actors at least a decade and a half older then them, and losing weight till they look like stick figures.

trendies

These people have quite a tight circle of friends and generally enjoy taking the piss out of other people. They listen to dance or D n B and are usually out clubbing most nights, or inviting themselves to parties. Jurassic 5 was quite full of trendies actually. They generally dont get on with people that arent trendies and will usually sit outside at parties and smoke all night, if they dont smoke then they just sit and chat, but you rarely see them off their face, they usually have the odd social drink.

nerd-trend

A trend that is inherently nerdy. A nerd-trend occurs when a lead nerd decides on a new nerd activity to partake in such as online chess or scrabble. Once the activity is celebrated by the lead nerd and fellow lead nerds, sheep nerds with invariably begin to participate, leading to a nerd-rush of activity, and an eventual nerd-movement toward the next activity the lead nerd decides upon.

nerd-trends have become even more mainstream as a result of the internet and online games. Facebook applications are also at fault for many nerd-trends that have resulted in the last 5 or so years.

Marianna: Jonathan, I found this great Facebook app for online scrabble!
Jonathan: Oh goody, let's have a scrabble marathon. Best out of 7 wins!
Marianna: actually, lets look up chuck Norris jokes!
