Nan conversation

A monotonous, uninspiring conversation in the style typically had by two elderly women pulling granny trolleys along a cul-de-sac in Weston-Supermare on an overcast day.

I can't go on another date again, he has no personality and we just end up having "Nan conversation":

Vera: Hello there, dear. How are you today?

Nora: Oh, I'm doing alright, I suppose. Just feeling a bit tired today.

Vera: I know what you mean. I woke up with a headache this morning.

Nora: Oh no, that's not good. Have you tried taking anything for it?

Vera: Yes, I took some aspirin. It seems to be helping a bit.

Nora: That's good. I hate when I have a headache. It can really ruin your day.

Vera: Indeed it can. So, have you been up to anything interesting lately?

Nora: No, not really. Just been knitting and reading mostly. What about you?

Vera: Same here. I've been reading some romance novels lately.

Nora: Oh, I used to love those when I was younger. I don't have the patience for them anymore.

nerd-to-nerd conversation

A conversation involving two or more people (nerds) possessing a high-level of knowledge, expertise, and passion in particular subject matter, where individuals of lesser understanding in the same subject matter are not included or removed. The nerd-to-nerd conversation is especially useful when burdensome managers and bureaucratic roadblocks have caused a simple meeting or discussion to become needlessly overcomplicated.

Someone who can easily run a conversation, like a quarterback runs an offense. Will make you either easy to talk to, or just make people want to punch you in the face.

Example #1:

Jen: I don't think I can go out with Steve, I'm too shy to talk.

Beth: Don't worry, he's such a conversation quarterback, he'll make it easy for you.


Example #2:

Dude: Man, fuck Brent! He's such a conversation quarterback that he won't let you get a word!

Conversational Plagarism

When someone says something that you have previously said and tries to pass it off as their own. You either hear about it from whoever they said it to or you overhear them saying it. Can be extremely irritating, especially if you're the sort of person who dislikes making a scene and doesn't want to call them on it.

Tom: Did you know that (insert interesting fact here)?
Dick: Wow, really? That's so interesting...

LATER

Harry: Did you know that (insert same interesting fact here)
Tom: Yeah, did I tell you that?
Harry: No, Dick did. He's so interesting.
Tom: MOTHERFUCKER!! That's conversational plagarism right there...
