A style of taking a photograph that allows you to avoid asking a stranger: "Will you please take my picture?"

I am not gonna hand my iPhone to that creepy guy. I will just take a selfie instead.

Selfie-centered

Can be used to describe people, most often girls, who take and post a ridiculous number of selfies to their social media page(s). Often indicative of self-centeredness, conceit, and/or underlying low self-esteem and the need for praise and validation from others.

I was liking that girl until i saw her Facebook page with hundreds of selfies on it. I just can't date someone who is so selfie-centered. It's a deal-breaker for me.

Selfie

A picture taken by ones self, including 50% or more of that persons face. Pictures taken of other body parts or NOT including 50% or more of that persons face is not considered a selfie.

Timo took a picture of his boobs and mouth but did not show more than 50% of his face. Therefore he did not take a selfie.
