Also used to describe a fake or a phoney, i.e: John Edwards --> South Park

Talentless guys who sing and play guitar to bag dumb women. Magicians.
Most guys on MTV reality shows.
All the guys on the Jersey Shore.
Guys that brag about their cars, pre-med, or pre-law.
Musclemen that insist on showing their muscles off.
etc.

Person 1: "Did you hear Mike butcher that song while he flexed his muscles, trying to impress that skank?"

Person 2: "Even without the spray on tan and hard spiked hair, he's still a Royal Douche Bag".

douche bag

Fake tan, spiky hair, pulls a riduculous face for camera, obsessed with working out for ego purposes, does not think deeply about anything, is oblivious to how others see them, awful clothes that have to shout the designers name, can be male and female, under developed sense of humour and especially does not get irony, over inflated view of self worth, if a douche read this description they would be incapable of seeing themselves in it.
