Money to keep the well oiled machine going, functioning.

Anything dysfunctional is no good for the machine, it's designed to have interchangeable, functional parts that keep it running (as a collective). No individuals, nobody different from the next person. It takes lots of money, so there's always a collection basket to keep it going.
