My new boyfriend proposed to me while he was naked. I couldn't figure out where he hid the ring, but now I think he was hamster cheeking it.

Get the Hipster mug. Many things throughout history and in our daily lives have been at one point influenced by hipster manipulation one way or another. Be it laws that have come into effect or lies we are told by those in power so people will believe they are true.
When the media and news outlets try to sensationalise a fad, before most people have even heard of it. News outlets will sometimes use hipster manipulation to try and start a fad by falsly claiming that everyone is doing it. It's like a form of peer pressure when someone makes the broad generalisation that all of the kids are doing it.
Some news outlets have been known to create fake news stories in order to claim that they were the first to report on it.
Many times in order to get a viral trend started, a person or company will try to create the illusion that everyone who has not yet heard about it is late to the party.
Many companies and industries will lobby for changes to manipulate the publics view on things or what becomes into law. As a dishonest way of making profits.

Get the Hipster mug.A hipster is someone who conforms to non-conformity, usually without realizing they are doing so. Hipsters typically have subdued narcissistic traits and an amorphous sense of self. Hipsters usually project a passive or passive aggressive persona of superiority to those who live within societal norms or mainstream culture, and they externalize (or push internalized) self-judgement and insecurity onto others by way of harsh criticism via over-intellectualizing things to the point of creating irrational logic loops. Ultimately, hipsters are people with an identity problem. Their efforts to solve this problem usually come from attempting to individuate themselves through subcultural trends (such as off-beat fashion, music and art trends, etc.) that make them feel unique despite the irony that their efforts to do so end up being conformist to a hipster subculture that has become mainstreamed in a roundabout way.
A hipster walks into a bar and realizes they don't have a mixologist, only bartenders. He walks out.
