A popular hairstyle, mostly worn by "scene" and "emo" kids. Hair is usually cut longer in the front with back of the head styled spiky/ blown-out , or spiky in the back with bangs straight across the forehead. Style starts in the mid-90s in the San Diego hardcore scene, by legendary scenester Justin Pearson who played in the 90s screamo bands Struggle, Swing Kids, Crimson Curse (later The Locust). An earlier term for this look was "Spock-Rock" or "Romulan Rock", which was in direct reference to the shotgun hairstyle that was common within this punk scene. Kids later added bleached tips and neon colored streaks as the style entered the "myspace" era.

Shotgun Theory 

A Technique for hitting on Women. A man will use this Theory when he has no one in particular he wants to date but wants to flirt with women and see how they respond. essentially you hit on everyone you see without exception and and hope you "hit" something.

I have been "shotgunning" with all the chicks at work. and most of them have giving me their numbers

Shotgun Ape

A certain playstyle of shooter (or other competitive) games in which a player uses nothing but a close-range weapon, usually a shotgun. Instead of using good positioning and a balanced loadout enabling them to fight at medium range, they get the highest possible mobility and defense that they can and run straight towards the enemy with their shotgun or close-range weapon.

Most players enjoy it for the close-quarters one-hit playstyle and the ability to strike fear into players who are not equipped to deal with them.

We observe the shotgun ape in its natural habitat, rushing towards the enemy with its arms flailing above its head, closing in for the kill on the poor sniper struggling to reload his weapon.
