Operlinden

When someone is so far behind on a certain trend or idea that they overuse that trend. It’s a feeling of being left out that reciprocates into being very annoying.

Origin- This comes from a 18th century German folk tale in which a young witch finds out that everyone else has been making candy houses to lure young kids, and she goes through what the Germans call operlinden (German for “regret over a newfound idea”). The witch decides to built a candy house, but all the kids in the German Forrest have wised up to the fact that only witches built candy houses.

I think Ann was going through some operlinden when she started doing rainbow loom five years after everyone else stopped.
