The red states, who have the highest rates of gun ownership and the most extreme rates of gun related deaths, should not take the sissy step of seceding from the Union, as many of them want to. Instead, they should wait a couple of years, arm everybody, and diecede in a blaze of glory.

He is, in essence, socially and economically subservient, despite his outward rebellion. Hence the phrase: his cheeks are in the air.
