It simply means "Shit." It's used to describe surprise and/or opposition towards a comment and/or situation. Usually in a major way.

WOMAN: I need a huge favor.
MAN: What?
WOMAN: Will you pay my rent and bills? I'll give you something to make it worth your while.
MAN: Shee-It!!!!!!!! Your hand cares about my money more than you care about me.

This word can be said in many forms, whether your mad, calling someone a shmeeger can be just the word to use to get back at them. They won't know what hit them.
It can also be meant as different nouns like eating some shmeegers or going to the shmeeger.
Also if you are annoyed instead of using a curse word shmeh is the perfect replacement

that bitch is such a mother shmeeger.

i got so wasted last night because the bartender kept giving me so many shmeegers.

the last time i was ill, i had to go to the shmeeger, but he gave me some shmeegers, so i got much better.

im so hungry i could eat an entire bowl of shmeegers.
