A common excuse from (often older) men who come into the ER with something strange stuck up their butt. Sure, that lubed potato was definitely fell on by accident, Mr. Montgomery Imdefinitelynotinthecloset.

Fell for the soup

To naively walk into a setup or situation that's embarrassing or ends badly, especially when trying to be helpful, kind, or unsuspectingly cooperative. Usually implies that the person should have known better, but got blindsided anyway. Often due to being too nice, too trusting, or just not thinking it through.

“She swore her ex was ‘just a friend.’ Fell for the soup hard.”

“Manager asked if I could ‘just stay 10 minutes late.’ Two hours later… yeah, I fell for the soup.”

“He promised he just needed a ride across town. Ended up dragging me to three different stops. Fell for the soup.”
