A term used to describe situations or tools that places you into a worst position, usually self-inflicted. This term is similar to "Foot Gun", except was used heavily in the American South West and particularly in the early 2010s. There has been debates on which term came first, but evidence points to originating in southern Colorado.
Allowing business users the ability to make technical decisions is a shoe gun. The last thing you'll want to do cause yourself future problems when they promise imaginary things or commit to unrealistic deadlines.

It was obvious the writers were loading the gun by bringing all the storylines together just before the show’s big ending.
