Das Wort „Lembert“ leitet sich von der Krankheit Morbus Lembertus ab, welche erstmals im 21. Jahrhundert aufgetreten ist. Symptome der Krankheit sind nicht vollständig bekannt, jedoch tritt häufig mentale Trägheit und Eigenscham bei Erkrankten auf.

In der Jugendsprache findet sich die Krankheit unter dem Kürzel „Lembert“ wieder und wird häufig als Beleidigung für jemanden benutzt benutzt, der doof aussieht oder sich so verhält.
